Tag - Tagging for your blog or website contents explained

Tag Definition:

Tag in Web-2.0 is a keyword or term or simply a category name attached with a piece of information. This information could be a blog or website post, an image, video clip, or a Map. Tags are normally decided by webmaster at the time to sharing the piece of information with outside word. For ex.- Few days back, i wrote an article "Ping definition Usage And Tips" and selected "Ping", "Tips", "definition" as tags of my article.

Tag Usage:

Now from the above example, It clear that we use Tags to categorize the piece of information. The major usage of Tag in Web-2.0 is Social-bookmarking. Many websites support the concept of Tagging in order to build a collection of filtered information based on the requested Tag by visitors. These websites are-
Technorati
del.icio.us
Flickr
Digg

and many more services support the concept of Tags and uses Tag or different term like label, keyword etc. All these terms are same. These websites filters the information based on Tag or label and provide a broader level of search options to website visitors based on these tags.

Tag Tips:

1:-> Tags are the best way to categorized the piece of information, so next time when you write a blog post or upload a video to YouTube or a picture to Flickr, don't forget to tag it.

2:-> Put Technorati tag cloud as a blog widget to your blog or website. It looks good and give your visitors

3:-> A visitor who come to your blog or website can quickly scan the list of tags so from the point of usability, its very good to have tag in your blog, This will give your visitors a clear picture of what you have in your blog/website.
