Microsoft Silverlight Definition:
Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device plug-in that provides support for rich interactive applications such as vector graphics, audio/video playback and animations. Microsoft launched Silverlight to compete with existing dominating products like Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex in the field of rich internet applications.
Microsoft Silverlight applications can be written in any .NET programming language. At the time of writing this post, Silverlight 2 is the current version.
